Daniel Khan defeated defending champ Gerard Tang Yuk en route to winning the latest edition of the Backgammon Association’s monthly tournaments on Tuesday night.
Sweet Lime Restaurant on Ariapita Avenue, sponsors of the tournament, also hosted the event, which attracted several players, all vying for victory.
Earl Durity, who manages the tournament series, was on hand to oversee operations, along with his assistant Maxine Gonzales.
As the players focused on their game, Sweet Lime patrons dined and enjoyed cocktails.
In the final game, Daniel Khan beat Jack Manazer in a real nail-biter.
Backgammon is one of the oldest board games involving the rolling of dice. But it's no gamble that next month's session, on February 23, will bring out some of the best in Backgammon talent.
