How can hotel guests travel in safety and comfort to and from the hottest strip for dining and liming in Port-of-Spain? Now they can use the WeAvenue Bus.
On Tuesday afternoon, in the cool setting of Sweet Lime Restaurant on the corner of French Street and Ariapita Avenue, Nalini Jitman of Molepolole Trinidad and Tobago Ltd welcomed guests to launch off WeAvenue's Free Shuttle Service.
Nalini said the Nissan Caranvan bus, liscened for 12 passengers, is now available to guests at hotels, guest houses and inns in the Port-of-Spain area, free of charge.
A healthy turnout of enthusiastic hotelliers came out to hear about the new service, and were very vocal in their approval.
The owner of one Cascade inn said she felt the initiative was a positive one: "Guests are always concerned about their safety and security. So if they know a facility like this is available, they will definitely use it."
"Sometimes, guests are looking for something to do. This way, we can tell them there's a place to go and a way to get there."
With WeAvenue staffers Eva and Karen on hand to help inform the guest house owners, Nalini invited the audience to inspect the new bus, with its colourful and eye-catching exterior.
The vehicle is equipped with a DVD screen on the inside, to facilitate the screening of ads while hotel guests are onboard. An attractive package of advertising rates is available.
Three drivers, trained in defensive driving, helped show off the new bus as some boarded and tried out the comfortable seating.
The audience was invited to enjoy tasty eats and refreshing beverages, as Nalini expressed the commitment of Molepolole T&T Ltd to showcasing the wealth of Ariapita Avenue through the WeAvenue.com portal--and now with the brand new shuttle service that's bound to be a hit.
