Veni Mange, one of Trinidad's favourite creole food restaurants, has enjoyed a long reputation as a meeting place for connoisseurs of the arts.
The tables and chairs were moved out as the colourful Ariapita Avenue venue opened its doors on Tuesday night to host an art show for a cause.
Justin Sobion, son of this country's late Attorney General Keith Sobion, staged an art exhibition at Veni, along with his cousin Satori Hassanali.
The family art show was held in order to raise funds for the Keith Stanford Sobion Foundadtion, a fund that sponsors academic scholarships for Caribbean students.
Family members, friends and lovers of art turned out in numbers from around 6.30 and stayed to chat, lime and buy art. A calendar featuring the artwork was on sale.
The band Minutes to Midnight entertained patrons, who were also treated to complimentary red and white wines.
