The Jazz Alliance of Trinidad and Tobago staged a special night of music at Satchmo's Jazz Restaurant and Lounge on Ariapita Avenue, on Friday night.

The musical organisation, headed by ace drummer Sean Thomas, produced a live concert featuring the jazz stylings native to Brazil.

All the cool of Corcovado was transported to the Avenue venue, as jazz favouites like Girl From Ipanema, Astrid Gilberto's Quiet Nights and Sergio Mendes classic Mas Que Nada wafted through the air.

To accomplish this feat, a slate of top local jazz acts was assembled, including the likes of vocalists Candace Alcantara, Vaughnette Bigford, Patti Rogers, Marissa Gomez and Digicel finalist Afiya Athill.

The ladies, all stylishly dressed to impress, were backed by accomplished musicians, including keyboardist Wayne Guerra,  guitarist Jeffrey Pataysingh, bassist Russel Durity and Sean Thomas on drums.

Patrons enjoyed dinner, wine, music and Satchmo's fine ambience, at a show that, from all appearances definitely pleased.
